this is the UTM grading scheme

90-100 A+ 4.00
80-89 A 4.00
75-79 A- 3.67
70-74 B+ 3.33
65-69 B 3.00
60-64 B- 2.67
55-59 C+ 2.33
50-54 C 2.00
45-49 C- 1.67
40-44 D+ 1.33
35-39 D 1.00
30-34 D- 0.67
0-29 E 0.00

for my faculty...
Electrical engineering faculty when you get C- for your subject you can choose either want to repeat the subject or not, but if you have D+ and below you must repeat the subject....
its compulsory....
these means that D+ and below is considered as fail...

if you repeat and have a better grade for the subject it will be replace with the better one.
but your pointer for the semester is just remain the same...
it only will be calculated in overall pointer or CGPA.
